Lead Abatement

Why is Lead Removal or

Abatement

Necessary?

Deteriorating lead paint can produce dangerous lead levels in household dust and soil. Deteriorating lead paint and lead-containing household dust are the main causes of chronic lead poisoning. The lead breaks down into the dust and since children are more prone to crawling on the floor, it can easily ingested.

Our Lead Removal

Process

After the building has been inspected, our lead abatement specialist must come in to determine what the best methods of abatement are based on all the factors of the project. A scope of work should then be written up based on the inspector’s initial report and the contractor’s subsequent walk-through. Once the scope of work has been agreed upon, the abatement work must be carried out accordingly using scraping, stripping, replacing and encapsulation as the most commonly-utilized methods of carrying out the actual removal or treatment of the lead paint.
