A scope of work should then be written up based on the inspector’s initial report and the contractor’s subsequent walk-through. Once the scope of work has been agreed upon, the abatement work must be carried out accordingly using scraping, stripping, replacing and encapsulation as the most commonly-utilized methods of carrying out the actual removal or treatment of the lead paint.
